The Charanga Musical School programme is transforming the way music is taught in our primary schools for both pupils and teachers. In order to maintain our level of commitment and support we are looking to recruit a full-time Administrator with book-keeping skills to be based at our Brighton seafront offices.

The position can be immediate start, permanent and depending on experience the salary is £16-£19k pa. Our offices are on the seafront near the Brighton Wheel so you can spend your lunch break soaking up the sun. We are a small friendly team who work hard, to tight deadlines but with a good sense of humour. We’d like the Administrator to be professional, capable and friendly. an accurate book-keeper, great on the phone and not afraid to screen calls and calm under the pressure of changing priorities. There may be opportunities to progress your career to Office Manager in the future.

The responsibilities are outlined below but briefly consist of book-keeping, administration, reception and support for sales and trainers:

Preparing and banking cheques

Coding and scanning invoices

Processing school orders / training payments and recording information

Credit control – periodic chasing up of outstanding invoices

Domain management – renewals and additions

Stationery ordering

Reception calls

Building Manager liaison

Postage and couriers

Admin support for partners

Printing of documentation

Tidying and reorganisation of office

Managing email campaigns and communication especially re training

Deal with initial school enquiries re CPD & Training

Identify appropriate trainer, book and manage training

Sort training admin and practicalities eg tech/venue as required

Arrange travel/accom as required

Act as central point for national training panel

Keep forum up to date
