My journey through yoga (Lin):
It was after a motor biking accident in 1980 that I first discovered the beneficial effects yoga had on both my mental and physical wellbeing. After experiencing these effects it seemed only natural to begin to help others achieve the same and since then I have become a senior Yoga Alliance Teacher.
Through my studies of osteopathy I have gained knowledge in the in the workings of the body which allow me to understand each individual’s accommodations and limitations. In 1986 I gained my Diploma in Osteopathy and then went on to complete an MSc in Osteopathy (Life Sciences) in 2007. My studies have enabled me to develop palpitation skills which allow me to “feel” what is happening in the body; which is very useful in yoga adjustments.
I have adapted the way in which I teach in order to share the positive effects of yoga with everyone, of any age or ability. My aim is to encourage and challenge all in order to help them in get the best out of their body, and the best out of life.
Not only do I have an understanding for the need of providing a safe environment but also the need for a fun atmosphere, as this is also crucial to your health.
