An opportunity has arisen for a Head Chef to join our busy brigade. You must have at least 3 years gastro pub experience at Senior Sous Chef level, loads of stamina and enjoy the fast pace of working in a kitchen. You also need to be able to stay calm as everyone in the brigade, from the Kitchen Porter to the Sous Chef looks to you for inspiration – and you'll have to hold your own with the front of house restaurant staff too. Your menus will set the tone for the restaurant, and the quality and pricing of the food you produce could arguably make or break the business.
THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR MUST HAVE:
Experience in overall responsibility for daily operations in the kitchen.
Liaise with purchasing companies for food orders.
Maintain or raise the profit margins on food.
Manage, train and recruit a brigade of chefs.
Possess excellent cooking skills.
Have an understanding of produce and ingredients.
Have the ability to write menus that are both creative and profitable.
Must have own transport due to the location.
OTHER USEFUL QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE
City & Guilds diplomas in professional cookery.
BTEC HND in professional cookery.
A foundation degree in culinary arts.
Any health and safety and food hygiene courses.
